Nexus is a metropolitan-scaled strategy that uses landscape as a framework for reorganizing and guiding future growth of Indianapolis.

This framework reconsiders Indianapolis’s monuments not as a collection of individual objects, but as part of an open space system that also engages other civic activities and buildings. The circle itself becomes the anchor of the system: Nexus. No longer understood as only facilitating the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, Nexus is transformed into a platform that foregrounds Indianapolis’s historic identity as well as reconciles emerging cultural, social, and economic currents of 21st century Indianapolis to cultivate a new public realm.
